Is it okay to watch porn?

It is not illegal to watch porn that only includes people over 18 years of age. But it is forbidden to watch, save or distribute porn that includes people under 18 years of age.

Porn often shows sex in a way that does not match what sex is like in real life. This can affect what you think sex should be like, what you think bodies should look like or what you think others enjoy.

Porn often shows violence or humiliation of girls and women. Remember that it is illegal to force someone to have sex or use violence against someone.

Do you need to talk about porn? 

You can get support if you have any questions, feel bad about using porn, or are exploring or questioning your sexuality – for example what turns you on.

Does your culture or religion put you at risk of being rejected by your family or religious community for being who you are? You have the right to be who you are, and there is support and help available.
